Sanken is celebrated for 3 days and people cleanse the icon of Buddha.  This festival also denotes the starting of the new year.


9) Solung


The date for the festival is varied every year and is determined by the village council or Kebang as per the suitability of the villagers. After the date is decided the groundwork of the neighboring beer Apong begins. The pigs as well as Indian Bison are killed in the morning on the first day. One-third of the meat is allocated amongst the relatives and a huge dinner banquet is prepared for women, children, and neighbors.


10) Nyokum


Nyokum Festival is celebrated by the Nyishi people and is cherished for the affluence and peace of the people. This festival is celebrated on 28th February each year in the Papumpar region, Kurung Kumney region, East Kemang region, Lower Subansiri region. The phrase Nyokum arrived from 2 words from the local idiom and can be busted as Kum denoting people and Nyok denoting Land.
