1.Use WhatsApp web to connect WhatsApp to your desktop-
Whatsapp is not only limited to your mobile but also your desktop. One can easily access information and contacts from your mobile phone to your desktop. The following are the steps to connect WhatsApp to one’s desktop-
- Go to https://web.whatsapp.com/ on your desktop
- On your mobile, you need to open WhatsApp, go to settings, and then go to WhatsApp web
- Scan the QR code on the browser and then follow the instructions. The WhatsApp on your phone will open on your desktop and now you can access the WhatsApp on your desktop quite easily.
2.Send your location to your contacts-
WhatsApp allows one not only to share text, and videos but also your current location in a very handy and convenient manner. If you are meeting a friend somewhere, you can share your the current location with her by performing the following steps-
- Click on the specific chat and now tap on the “+” button which is available in the bottom right corner of the message box.
- Now tap on the location and share your current location, you can also select the time frame as per your convenience.
3.Mute a specific chat–
When you are busy caught up in a meeting or some work, you can use the WhatsApp mute feature which can aid us to silent a chatty group conversation or a friendly chat who will not be able to identify or doesn’t get a hint that you are busy.
The following are the steps to mute a group or a specific chat.
The user can Long-press on that particular chat and tap one of the crossed-out speakers which are available in the top right corner observe the screen
The iPhone user can mute the conversation or specific chat by swiping to the left across the chat and then tapping on the three-dot button followed by mute.
4.Hide your last seen status–
Sometimes it’s a burden knowing that people can view your last seen online status and that makes the pressure to reply to your pending messages.
If you don’t want your friends or random contacts to know your last seen status then you can perform the following status
Tap on the three-dots button available on the top right corner of your screen, go to accounts, and then tap on the privacy button.
Go to the last seen button then you have the option to click on everyone, contacts, or nobody, you can choose the desired option as per your convenience.
5.Receive custom notifications–
Instead of receiving the safe alert sound for every incoming message, one can set custom alerts for individual contacts. This option enables you to know who messaged you without looking at your phone. The following are the steps to set customs notification of individual contacts.
Long-press on specific chat and tap on the three dots button available in the top right corner of your screen.
Go to view contacts and then tap on custom notifications, check the box, and then finish setting it up.
6.Star messages for later–
When exam time rolls around, the last thing one can do is to find the file or document which needs to be studied. This option makes it convenient for one to go back for a meaningful full message, address no. or any article link that a friend sent you. The following are the steps to start a message –
Long press the message you want a star for later use and then tap on the star icon available on the top middle of your screen. Thus your message has been a star.
7.Set the wallpaper of your Whatsapp chat screen –
- Whatsapp has a standard wallpaper that will appear as a background on your chats by default.
- You can change the wallpaper of your WhatsApp chat at your convenience.
- The following are the steps to change the wallpaper or background of your WhatsApp chat.
- Tap the three dots button available on the top right corner of the screen.
- Go to settings and then tap on chats.
- Click on the wallpaper option and tap on change.
- Now the user can set the desired wallpaper as per his/her choice.
8.Reply to a specific message within a chat thread–
Group chats get seriously disturbing and noisy when messages come flying from all directions. The amazing feature of WhatsApp allows one to reply to a particular message. If you want to reply to a message in a chatty group then you can go back to the past message to highlight it and reply directly. The replied message will go back beneath the original message. For doing so, one has to swipe to the original message from left to right and can reply.
9.Clear out storage and see who you chat with the most–
Eager to know who’s your BFF, here’s a feature of WhatsApp that allows one to have a look at the person to whom you have to chat the most. For doing so, go to Settings, tap on the storage option and then click on manage storage.
A list of contacts will pop on the screen and you can see the contacts that occupy most storage on your phone by tapping on the specific contact to view the detailed stats such as the number of messages and images exchanged.
10.Get shortcuts to conversations–
Android users can add shortcuts to conversations directly on the home screen. It is useful when there are certain people to whom you talk often. You can perform the following shortcut by tapping and holding on the desired chat, clicking on the three dots which are available in the top right corner of the screen. Go to the add chat shortcut option and the chat with the person’s profile photo will appear on your home screen.
