With 126 athletes across 18 sports regulations, India had sent its largest-ever group to Tokyo Olympics. Indian athletes took part in 69 collective events for the country.

Fouaad Mirza is the primary Indian equestrian to be eligible for the Games in 20 years. his quota in eventing after topping the collection in the entity event category at the South East Asia and Oceanic qualifiers in November 2019.
Fencing
Bhavani Devi became the primary Indian fencer to succeed in the Olympics. The fencer booked her position from Chennai for Tokyo 2020 via the Adjusted Official Ranking(AOR) procedure.
Wrestling
There will be seven wrestlers from India opposing at Tokyo 2020. With Sonam Malik winning the quota in the 62kg class, Rio 2016 bronze medallist Sakshi Malik will not be grappling at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
